Introduction to Nvu - the editorNvu - the Open Source html editorOK - I know handling raw html and css documents can be a little intimidating for many people. Fortunately, Nvu allows you to create html without the bother of seeing any of the cryptic code. Nvu has what's know as a GUI - a Graphical User Interface - that allows users to work on web documents as they appear in the browser instead of looking at code. The graphic below shows this page as I was working on it in Nvu. Notice how much the interface resembles what you see in the browser and not the gobbledygook of html code! Also, notice that Nvu uses editing tools similar to those used in common word processing or publishing programs. Hopefully this will make you more comfortable creating html documents in Nvu. The next page, try it!, lets you have a go at creating your own html page in Nvu. |
